Juel Ross Stanton, a reputed Hells Angels member from the East End chapter in Vancouver, ON Canada, was gunned down with multiple shots in a drive-by at his home at 6:15 am. Stanton was charged last April on several weapons and assault counts in connection with an alleged series of bar attacks, and he was out on bail pending resolution of those charges.
Vancouver police stated "it's our understanding he was expelled from the [Hells Angels] club this year," and further "it's too early to speculate about whether the killing will set off a gang war in the coming days" Stanton "was involved with biker gangs since the late 1990s, starting out with The Regulators, a Hells Angels puppet club," and one law enforcement officer stated that he was "a guy that would have had a long, long list of enemies."
Neighbors said they heard as many as 10 gunshots ring out at a house at W. 11th Avenue and Columbia Street at around 6:15 a.m. Thursday, and later saw a body lying outside the house.
Neighbours said the house is well known within the neighborhood and a Hells Angels flag, which was recently taken down, used to hang in one of the windows. The house also appears to be under video surveillance, with several security cameras affixed to the exterior.
In April, the Vancouver police gang squad issued a public warning about Stanton, calling him a rogue member who enjoyed flashing his Hells Angels tattoos to intimidate people.Police threatened to crack down on the gang if Stanton was not reined in.
Vancouver police have cordoned off several city blocks as they investigate the shooting.
