The FBI is offering a $2,000,000 reward for information leading directly to the arrest of James J. Bulger.

If you're not interested in the full story the short version is…James Whitey Bulger is the alleged leader of Boston's notorious Winter Hill Gang and was a high-level FBI informant. He is currently on the FBI's most wanted list after being indicted on charges related to his mob activity. Bulger fled Boston on December 23, 1994 after he learned sealed indictments were coming from the Department of Justice and the FBI were to make arrests during the Christmas season. Since that time Bulger has been on the run. A lot of people are of the opinion that the FBI are not looking very hard for Bulger as he has a lot to say about his relationship with the Boston office and information he could provide would be both embarrassing and could lead to criminal indictments.  Some believe he planned very well and was prepared for the day when he knew he’d have to make a quick exit and he just faded into nothingness. Whatever the case may be the story is interesting.

George and Iris Weiland of Wisconsin joined the elite club of American tourists detained by Italian authorities thanks to their resemblance to fugitive mobster James “Whitey” Bulger and his longtime moll, Catherine Greig.

A tip from Interpol that the 79-year-old James "Whitey" Bulger, who is one of the FBI's 10 Most Wanted, might be staying at a Toronto home led to the  arrest of an elderly man who resembled the fugitive, but proved to be just another look-alike, according to Canadian authorities.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police went to the address but nobody was there, said Sergeant Marc LaPorte, a spokesman for the RCMP. However, police spotted an elderly man resembling the fugitive at a nearby restaurant. The man was arrested, but later fingerprinted and ruled out as Bulger, LaPorte said.

"The person that they thought was him was not him,'' said LaPorte.

If, after all these years on the run, James “Whitey” Bulger’s moll Catherine Greig reconsiders standing by her man, the FBI will leave a light on. The charge of harboring a federal fugitive awaits Greig, 58, in Boston. But Richard Teahan, supervisory special agent in charge of the Bulger Task Force, said yesterday investigators are open to negotiating with the bottle-blond, plastic-surgery obsessed dental assistant and her family.
